Karina Smirnoff takes in the rays in blue print bikini as she suns herself in Miami

She's in Miami to host a New Year's Eve bash.

But Karina Smirnoff managed to fit in a spot of sun bathing before she hit the clubs.

The Dancing with the Stars pro dancer pampered herself with a sunbath and a cocktail on the rooftop at Catalina Hotel and Beach Club on Sunday.

Karina showed off her tanned and toned body in a pretty bikini that featured a blue halter top and blue, green and purple print bottoms.

The 34-year-old Ukrainian-born champion definitely deserved some R&R before her big night when she hosts the hotel's Studio 54 New Year's Eve 2013 party.

With the diva Karina leading alongside the band SPAM ALL STARS, the hotel is recreating the original Studio 54 club in New York.

Priced at $95 per person including dinner and open bar, it's promising to be a sell out.

Karina was no doubt excited to be in town with a party on the way as she sat back to relax on her lounge chair.

At one point, Karina got up to test the pool's temperature with a pink pedicured foot, but decided against going in for the full plunge.

Instead, Karina ordered what looked like a cool Cosmopolitan and sipped it at her leisure.

Busy as she is, Karina brought her cell phone along and spent some time chatting away to a friend.

At some point, Karina donned a pair of orange cotton trousers and went away talking on her phone.

Perhaps that was all the sun she wanted for one day.

Karina just came off another season of Dancing with the Stars - her 15th - in which she came in fifth place with partner Apolo Anton Ohno.

The dark-eyed brunette is also an aspiring actress, having guest-starred on the TV show Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 this year.
